Trade Spotlight: Greenwaste Gone!
Transport to dispose of greenwaste turned out to be a great timebank trade this month. Jack had no way to get their garden waste to the recovery centre, and Lisa already had a trip planned. Together they managed a combined trip to get everything dropped off.
"It was a great trade - we saved some petrol, combined our dispoal fees, and because Lisa has a ute, there's no bugs in my car boot!" - Jack

Kai and connection with Timebank Whakatū
Timebank Whakatū's first community picnic at the Queen's Gardens was a great afternoon. With a mix of new timebank members and old hands in attendence, some new community connections are well on the way. Thanks to the weather for playing ball! Keep your eyes peeled for the next opportunity to meet your fellow timebankers - a trade is a great way to get started!

Timebank Whakatū members host Clothing Swap at the WAA! Club
On the first Sunday in December, timebank members hosted a clothing swap at the WAA! Club. If you haven’t been to a clothes swap before, it’s pretty self-explanatory - you bring clothes along and swap them with other people, no money exchanged. It’s a great way to freshen up your wardrobe without purchasing something new - most attendees both arrived and left with full bags.
A big thanks to the WAA! Club who donated the leftover clothing from their garage sale the previous weekend to the clothes swap and for hosting the event at their space!
Unswapped clothing has been donated to various opshops around Nelson, so if you see something you like in the picture, you might just run into it around town!

Timebank Whakatū Steering Group gets ready to Launch
>One week out from the official launch of Timebank Whakatū the steering group meets for some much deserved kai and korero. Folks have been working hard to get everything in place to launch the timebank, including developing the sign-up process, Timebank values, and code of conduct. There’s a lot that goes into putting something like this together!

Timebank Whakatū will be launching at the Sustainable Gift and Craft Fair on Saturday 29th November at Victory Community Centre.
Come visit us to learn what a Timebank is, and how it can help you build relationships with new friends and neighbours. You’ll meet some of our steering group, hear some stories about the pre-launch timebank trial, and learn what it means to sign up. You can also read more about what timebanking is here. We look forward to meeting you!
If you’re keen to sign up, our steering group will be on hand to help you at the fair, just remember to bring a form of ID with you (you can bring any passport, or an NZ drivers or firearms licence). If you can't wait until Saturday, fill out this form here and we’ll be in touch.
